Heidi Flores
Violin
Biography
Heidi is currently a Music Therapy student at Biola University’s Conservatory of Music, where she studies violin, guitar, and piano. At Biola, she participates in small chamber ensembles, the Biola Symphony Orchestra, and is an active member of the Biola Music Therapy Association.
Heidi began playing music at the age of nine years old when a nonprofit in her hometown offered her violin lessons. She has been studying violin ever since! As her musical journey unfolded, her love for instrumental music grew as she quickly learned to play a variety of instruments including strings, winds and percussion, and to participate in various instrumental ensembles.
She has been teaching for six years and has loved every second of it. Her dedication to teaching music has turned into a desire to use music as a therapeutic tool to help individuals heal, which led her to pursue Music Therapy. Heidi recognizes the holistic value of learning a musical instrument and strives to help her students become the best musicians and individuals they possibly can be.
